SPOILER WARNING
This article contains spoilers of important plot details regarding the plotline of OMORI.

A simulated version of AUBREY is an enemy exclusive to the console versions of OMORI. She is fought alongside KEL and HERO as the penultimate opponents of the special BOSS RUSH event that can be done with BASIL on ONE DAY LEFT of the OMORI ROUTE.

STORY

If the BOSS RUSH simulation was attempted at least once, the player has the option to interact with BASIL to initiate a special version of the event. From there, the group suggests that BASIL should try out the BOSS RUSH with OMORI as his partner for the entire run. Along with that, KEL secretly tells BOSS to program simulated versions of himself, AUBREY, and HERO into the event. Inspired by KEL's idea, MARI also tells BOSS to program a hologram of herself while keeping it a secret from everyone else other than KEL.

After OMORI and BASIL defeat HUMPHREY in the event, the holograms of the three friends appear as a part of the final opponents for the simulation. While AUBREY and HERO express shock at this sight, KEL tells the two to not worry as these versions aren't as strong as them. MARI then cheers on both OMORI and BASIL as the match begins.

Note that if the player loses against the friends, they can still retry the penultimate match against the hologram friends as many times as they want until finally defeating them. Speaking to any of OMORI's friends upon losing the first time around prompts special dialogue from them. Regardless, defeating the three simulations will advance OMORI and BASIL to the final match of the simulation.

AI

SKILL BEHAVIOR
On the first turn, AUBREY will use BEATDOWN on a target. The next turn, AUBREY will use a random skill on a target, regardless of her current EMOTION state.

On the third turn, AUBREY inflicts KEL with the HAPPY state via her PEP TALK skill. Afterwards, AUBREY will now use most of her skills at a random percentage.

SKILL NOTES EMOTION
NEUTRAL HAPPY SAD ANGRY
MOOD WRECKER AUBREY attacks _____! 55% 55% 55% 55%
ATTACK NO ACS AUBREY attacks _____! 20% 20% 0% 20%
(LOOK AT KEL) ATTACK** AUBREY looks at KEL. KEL eggs AUBREY on! 25% 0% 25% 0%
(LOOK AT HERO) ATTACK** AUBREY looks at HERO. HERO tells AUBREY to focus! 25% 0% 25% 25%
POWER HIT AUBREY smashes _____! 40% 40% 40% 40%
WIND-UP THROW AUBREY throws her weapon! 35% 35% 35% 35%
BEATDOWN* AUBREY furiously attacks! 100% 100% 100% 100%

From the fourth turn and onwards, AUBREY will utilize each one of these skills at a random percentage. These usually depend on the skill she selects for her next move and her current EMOTION state. Each calculation is done independently from the previous ones, so the added percentage is not 100%.

*Despite the data listing BEATDOWN dealing damage three times, the attack itself only deals damage two times.

**Even though none of AUBREY's FOLLOW-UPS actually deals damage, the data lists both of them with damage output of (Attack x 2 - Foe's defense). In addition, both are only used if more than two enemies are active.

TRIVIA

Simulation Aubrey (Placeholder)
  • There exists a draft placeholder image for AUBREY in the "Enemies" folder of the console version's files. This is the same with the other console-exclusive bosses.
  • In the game's data, AUBREY is referred to as AUBREY BOSS or simulation aubrey.
  • AUBREY's battle sprite shows her wielding the MAILBOX weapon.
  • AUBREY shares the same battle background with KEL, HERO, BOSS, SNALEY's first two encounters, and ANGEL.
  • Some of AUBREY's skills such as her POWER HIT and MOOD WRECKER functions the same as her playable character variant. The only exception is the BEATDOWN skill, which only deals damage two times instead of three.
  • AUBREY has an unused variation of the PEP TALK skill, in which it functions the same as the one she uses as a playable character. She actually only uses the playable variant during the third turn of the match.
  • AUBREY has the highest health out of any enemy in the game, even surpassing those such as DROWNING and PERFECTHEART, though the latter (usually) requires more damage to be dealt overall due to being restored to 100% health upon reaching 35% health for the first time.
  • AUBREY, HERO, and CAPT. SPACEBOY are the only characters with two variants of their boss fights, with the other variant being her real world counterpart.
