AUGHT is a character and NPC in OMORI. They are one of the many mysterious creatures residing within the DEEPER WELL of the UNDERWATER HIGHWAY.

AUGHT is a creature resembling a sunflower covered in multiple leaves.

PERSONALITY[]

Like the other DEEPER WELL residents, AUGHT appears to be aware of the truth surrounding the existence of HEADSPACE and by extension, the truth regarding MARI's death.

AUGHT seems to have awareness of the fact that there's only two option when dealing with a problem: running away out of ignorance or choosing to confront them head on.

STORY[]

TWO DAYS LEFT[]

Within DEEPER WELL, AUGHT appears in one of the rooms that connects to the center whirlpool portal from the island containing multiple waterfalls. When speaking to them as OMORI, AUGHT comments that whenever trouble arises, there is always a choice to run.

They then end their words by noting that one day, OMORI will eventually find himself alone, isolated from reality as a result of constantly running away from his problems. Speaking to them with any other party member will simply lead to them only hearing mumbling.

ONE DAY LEFT[]

After saving BASIL from BLACK SPACE and resetting HEADSPACE on the OMORI ROUTE, all DEEPER WELL residents (excluding HUMPHREY and CIPHER) appear to have vanished entirely.

However, when re-entering PINK BEACH by using a secret entrance within NORTH LAKE, the empty husk of AUGHT can be found alongside the other missing NPCs from DEEPER WELL.

When inspecting AUGHT's corpse, the text will reveal that they are not alive, most likely stripped of their consciousness due to knowing too much about the truth.

  • AUGHT's dialogue largely relates to SUNNY's decision to flee from his problems and instead resign to his endless cycle of escapism through OMORI and HEADSPACE. These actions led to SUNNY's life going downhill, and these words can all depend on the choices he makes throughout the game.
