BASIL'S MEMORIES is a location in OMORI. This is where SUNNY finally faces his past memories of what truly happened to MARI when she died.

MAIN AREA[]
A peaceful meadow filled with flowers and grassy fields. The area is covered with multiple trees and right in the center contains a large tree containing various flowers. A vision of BASIL awaits for SUNNY to arrive and confront the truth once and for all.
STORY[]
SUNNY ROUTE[]
After managing to overcome SOMETHING within his mind, SUNNY winds up on a peaceful field filled with warm nature, flowers, and a hazy pink sky. SUNNY walks forward and collects two photos of an unknown source. He eventually finds BASIL standing in front of a large tree right next to MARI's picnic basket.
BASIL greets SUNNY, expressing relief that he's finally ready to uncover the truth. BASIL tells SUNNY that once he remembers the truth behind what truly happened to MARI, he has to stay strong regardless of what happens. With that being said, the young boy hands SUNNY his "PHOTO ALBUM" containing pictures of the truth and reveals the entrance inside of the tree.
From there, SUNNY enters the tree stump to recover his lost memories revealing how MARI actually died. He goes through a series of warped, distorted rooms reminding him of the traumatizing incident he repressed four years ago. Each time SUNNY enters a new room, he finds photos containing the rest of his repressed memories.
By the time he collects almost all photos, SUNNY slowly begins to recall what truly happened back then. Upon collecting the final photo near a darkened tree, SUNNY finally remembers the events leading up to MARI's death and the creation of "SOMETHING".

- The dialogue of the BASIL appearing in the BASIL'S MEADOW is contained in bs_basils_shadow.yaml, the file where all the dialogue of the BASIL STRANGER is.
- The BASIL STRANGER has mentioned he waited so long for SUNNY to come back, while the BASIL in BASIL'S MEADOW says he has always dreamed that SUNNY would come back for him.
