BASIL'S RAFT PATH[1] is one of the many locations found within BLACK SPACE in OMORI. It is the sixth optional BLACK SPACE area.
GEOGRAPHY[]
GENERAL[]
BASIL'S RAFT PATH takes on the appearance of a looping monochrome forest. There is also a grey tree stump where the missing BASIL is hiding. The most notable aspect of this area is the raft OMORI and BASIL can ride on for an unlimited amount of times. Riding the raft will take the two across RAFT STUMP[2], a black river with a background featuring the cold, empty atmosphere of BLACK SPACE itself.
WARP TO BLACK SPACE 2[]
After getting the key, the player can still go back and ride the raft three more times. Upon doing the entrance, a faint heartbeat noise will play in the background as OMORI rides the raft with the headless BASIL and onwards. This will eventually allow OMORI to ride the raft straight into the WEATHERVANE ISLAND, one of the five primary BLACK SPACE 2 areas. When accessing the location, there will be strong distortion effects since OMORI isn't supposed to be there at this time.

STORY[]
When OMORI enters this room, he finds himself in a wooded, monochrome forest world with a linear path. Going north will make you bump into BASIL hiding in a stump, and he will join you, though noticing OMORI's apathy towards him. Continuing north you will find a raft, which must be interacted with to progress.
As the raft ride begins, BASIL mentions he wants to talk about something, presumably the truth, right before they go into a tunnel, but as they get out, BASIL appears to be lacking his head. This implies that OMORI violently silenced him for attempting to help SUNNY remember the truth.
You can still go to the raft after that event. Go back south to the stump to find the key, and further south to find the RED HANDS. You can interact with the stump for unique dialogue. Interacting with the RED HANDS will take OMORI back to the center hub of BLACK SPACE.

- This area is one of two BLACK SPACE areas that you can access BLACK SPACE 2 from, the other being the FOREST OF STUMPS.
- BASIL'S RAFT PATH is one of the ten optional BLACK SPACE areas the player can explore. It is also one of the few areas where BASIL can be found.
- The unseen figure's quotes within the tree stump alludes to the choices SUNNY can make throughout the story, whether if he chooses to wake up and face reality, stay asleep in his imaginary world of escapism, or commit suicide to end everything for good.
- A few glimpses of the minor SOMETHING variants LILI and SALLI appear within the background.
- When arriving at the WEATHERVANE ISLAND after triggering the hidden entrance, the monochrome raft and the headless BASIL will slowly vanish from the screen.
