EMS, also known as EMILY, is a character and NPC in OMORI. She is a hamster that enjoys eating cheese, and first appears at the JUNKYARD to help HERO and his friends out.

APPEARANCE[]
EMS is a pudgy hamster with beige and white colors on her body. She wears a yellow bow on her left ear, and is always shown smiling through her overworld sprite in all of her appearances in the game.
PERSONALITY[]
EMS is shown to be cheerful and peppy, often happy to lend a hand whenever HERO calls her to help his friends out. Along with that, she possesses a great love for cheese, to the point of eating anything made of her favorite food.
STORY[]
During their search for CAPT. SPACEBOY's SPECIAL MIXTAPE in the JUNKYARD, OMORI and friends come across a large chuck of cheese blocking their path. AUBREY attempts to smash it with her bat, but it doesn't work. KEL suggests that the group should eat the entire thing while noting that cheese does get him kind of gassy, much to AUBREY's disgust.
HERO tells his younger brother that there's no need to do that, while suggesting he has the solution to their problem. HERO then uses his whistle to summon EMS, who gladly helps the group out by devouring the cheese in a span of a few seconds. She then disappears afterward while ROSA, who witnessed the commotion, takes her leave while commenting on how weird it was.
EMS can later be encountered in OTHERWORLD's CLUB SANDWICH starting from TWO DAYS LEFT, where it is revealed that HOAGIE sent her for a timeout due to attempting to eat the tables made out of bread. Speaking to EMS again will prompt her to attempt to resist eating the tables to satisfy her never-ending hunger.

- EMS is based on the artist @starsowing on twitter, the pixel artist for OMORI.
- Interacting with EMS in CLUB SANDWICH will lead her to secretly steal away a CHEESE WHEEL from the party's inventory, despite having no dialogue indicating her doing so. This only occurs if the party has a CHEESE WHEEL in their inventory.
- The ACTUAL MOLE guarding the BREAVEN's summoning circle does something similar to this when taking the party back up to the surface after being sacrificed before. The item he steals away is a LIFE JAM, which only occurs if the player has one in their inventory.
- In the 2018 Kickstarter demo, EMS was originally named SMALL MOUSE and is first found at the TRAIN STATION staring at TOMATOGIRL from behind. When speaking to her, EMS will comment on how delicious TOMATOGIRL smells and repeats this dialogue if spoken to again.
- She also shows up at the JUNKYARD, playing the same role she had in the full game's release.
- In the official OMORI Kickstarter, an early design of EMS can be found in the 27th update, appearing slightly different from the design shown in both the 2018 Kickstarter demo and the 2020 game.
- Various concept arts reveals that EMS was originally planned to be a mouse, as shown in the 2018 Kickstarter demo and one of the official Kickstarter updates, but she was changed to a hamster in the full release.
