THE EARTH is an optional mini-boss and NPC in OMORI. She can be fought within the location of OTHERWORLD through SPACE BOYFRIEND'S HOUSE.

THE EARTH's overall appearance looks exactly like the planet she is named after, using a real-life photo of it.
STORY[]
PROLOGUE - THREE DAYS LEFT[]
THE EARTH first appears on the pathway from SPACE BOYFRIEND'S HOUSE to the JUNKYARD, where she peacefully resides with the other planets CAPT. SPACEBOY gathered before. The party can interact with her, giving them the option to disturb the planet. If the party disturbs her, a mini boss fight will initiate if they do so. Defeating THE EARTH from there will cause her to vanish from the overworld.
TWO DAYS LEFT[]
If not fought before TWO DAYS LEFT on both routes, THE EARTH vanishes from her original spot at SPACE BOYFRIEND'S HOUSE. She also shows up at OTHERWORLD's CLUB SANDWICH area, entertaining a group of SPACE PIRATES on a stage. When interacting with her, THE EARTH will remain silent.
ONE DAY LEFT[]
On the ONE DAY LEFT segment of the OMORI ROUTE, THE EARTH appears alongside PLUTO, who informs the party that the former has been observing their journey throughout HEADSPACE. PLUTO then reveals that both he and THE EARTH desire to have a rematch with OMORI and company. Should the player answer yes, PLUTO will transform into his expanded form and fight alongside THE EARTH in a dual boss fight. After defeating both of them, PLUTO commends the group once more.

Every turn, each enemy will start by trying to use the skill listed at the top. If the calculation fails, they move on to the second skill and so on, until reaching the final skill which is guaranteed to activate. Each calculation is done independently from the previous ones, so the added percentage is not 100%.
*This skill can only be used if THE EARTH is at 20% of less HEART. If not, it'll be skipped.
**In addition, if PLUTO ever gets below 50% HP, he will throw THE EARTH straight at the party, dealing his regular variant's normal attack to the party. THE EARTH will then die afterwards as this move can only be used once.
STRATEGY[]
THE EARTH is a cruel mistress. Her cruelty has the ability to make various members of the party SAD. This can work to your favor if you make her HAPPY, though, as it will give you an emotional advantage and let OMORI exploit the full benefits of his STAB. She's still a rather straightforward opponent given your limited combat options at this stage of the game.
When she's paired with PLUTO it's a largely different story. THE EARTH'S cruelty can affect the entire party, turning them all SAD, and she uses this with enough regularity that they can eventually become DEPRESSED and MISERABLE. After this happens, THE EARTH will begin bombarding the party with her ultimate attack, which can really threaten their JUICE when combined with PLUTO'S own attacks.
However, because there are no other emotion modifiers for your party in this fight except your own, you are quite safe making PLUTO and THE EARTH HAPPY to reduce the amount of JUICE deduction suffered in the fight. THE EARTH should be targeted first since she can really mess with the party's EMOTIONS and slam them with an area attack regularly.

- THE EARTH shares the same battle background as SPACE EX-BOYFRIEND.
- THE EARTH also shows up as one of the sandcastles made by OMORI in NORTH COAST.
- In the game's data, THE EARTH is referred to as THE WORLD. This name was also used in a few of the pre-development screenshots, as well as the enemy's data name in the 2018 demo's files.
- Defeating the EARTH will grant the player the Goodbye, World! achievement.
- In addition, defeating both PLUTO and THE EARTH on ONE DAY LEFT grants The Brightest Stars achievement, which is exclusive to the OMORI ROUTE.
