PARSNIP is a character and NPC in OMORI. They are MARINA's presumed eighth experiment that can be encountered within the latter's sector in HUMPHREY as a non-hostile creature.

APPEARANCE[]
PARSNIP resembles a green plant-like cat creature. In fact, PARSNIP has a few features related to the vegetables that form their body. They retain a cat's ears, mouth, and eyes. Along with that, PARSNIP's fur is covered entirely in moss and a few bean sprouts appear to sticking out of their head.
PERSONALITY[]
PARSNIP has a playful personality, acting similar to an real-life cat. They often desire for one to show them affection, as shown through their reaction to being petted. They usually tend to be very social and curious towards anything it comes across.
STORY[]
PARSNIP is only encountered within MARINA's sector in HUMPHREY. They appear within a large room featuring many of MARINA's early experiments, found standing on several cages near the door to the next room of the sector.
When interacted with, PARSNIP introduces themself as MARINA's presumed eighth experiment and the player is given a prompt for three options available. This feature is shared with the rest of MARINA's experiments, excluding the mindless EXPERIMENT 667.
Poking PARSNIP causes them to mutter "Nyeeeeeeeehhh...", whereas petting them makes them purr out of genuine affection. Note that petting all of MARINA's experiments is required to obtain the Good Dog? achievement. Choosing nothing will not affect anything in terms of gameplay matters.
