STATIC WORLD, also internally known as SUSPENSE[1], is one of the many locations found within BLACK SPACE in OMORI. It is the first mandatory area the player must progress through to complete BLACK SPACE.
GEOGRAPHY[]
GENERAL[]
STATIC WORLD is a world filled with remnants of endless pain. The background featured consists of looping, static images of certain characters that are hard to distinguish. The creatures that inhabit this area are mostly distorted and broken in appearance.
One of them resembles a giant SOMETHING with a realistic mannequin face. Some of the notable objects consists of a crudely-drawn OMORI that is melting, a dead-looking whale, an unknown creature with large hollow eyes, poorly drawn window, and a human body cut into multiple parts.
Talking with any of the various SOMETHING plants or large creatures will cause them to cry out in pain. Interacting with any of the BLUEBIRDS will cause them to cough out black smoke while emitting a deep trumpeting noise.
SCRAPPED WARP[]
Originally, after collecting the key, if OMORI is positioned between the black hands near the window, and waits for 6 seconds, the following sequence would occur. The screen fades to black, only to reveal that OMORI has been warped to LOST FOREST 1. This has been cut because the developers didn't have enough time to test it extensively, although it exists in the 2019 build of the game.

STORY[]
OMORI is taken to a corrupted area filled with various forms of life, most of them appearing to be distorted variations of a few characters such as SOMETHING or OMORI himself. Immediately upon entering the world, you have an encounter with STRANGER, taking on the form of BASIL as usual.
Upon noticing OMORI's arrival, STRANGER will question OMORI about HEADSPACE's purpose, whether it was created to protect BLACK SPACE or hide it away. Regardless, STRANGER tells OMORI that BLACK SPACE's presence is slowly becoming more powerful than before, disappearing afterwards. From there, OMORI can interact with any of the creatures residing in the location while navigating his way by following the blue-colored footprints.
The key can be found by following the trail, next to a giant window. After collecting the key, several RED HANDS will spawn and interacting with them will take OMORI back to the center hub of BLACK SPACE.
ALTERNATE ENTRANCE[]
Accessing the alternate entrance requires having the UNIVERSAL REMOTE equipped for OMORI on ONE DAY LEFT of the OMORI ROUTE. The area where entrance can be accessed is within the JUNKYARD, where the DOWNLOAD WINDOW boss was previously fought. One of the TVs on the right side of the "0" is shown glitching out and flashing orange. Interacting with it causes the screen to briefly distort before darkening as OMORI is warped to STATIC WORLD.

- The SOMETHING that appears in this area bears an uncanny resemblance to MARI, specifically the face reusing the same design from mannequin variant of HELLMARI.
- When stepping on it, OMORI's movement will slow down unless he steps off of it.
- The background used for this area contains blurry shots of OMORI and friends from the 2014 trailer. There are also closeups of SUNNY, MARI, BASIL and AUBREY's HEADSPACE and REAL WORLD counterparts shown in the background.
