— IMPRESSIVE STATUE |
IMPRESSIVE STATUE is a character and NPC in OMORI. It is a large sentient statue of SWEETHEART that guards the entrance to the FANMAIL GRAVEYARD in the castle's garden.
PROFILE[]
APPEARANCE[]
The IMPRESSIVE STATUE resembles a large, life-sized statue of SWEETHEART with hollow eyes and glowing red pupils. Unlike the other statues seen in SWEETHEART'S CASTLE, IMPRESSIVE STATUE is shown to be sentient and capable of emitting proper speech. It also possesses the ability to shoot out laser beams to harm anyone who enters the wrong password to the castle's underground escape route.
PERSONALITY[]
Sharing the same obnoxious traits as the character it is based on, the IMPRESSIVE STATUE is loud and overbearing. It always speaks by shouting impatiently at anyone who comes across it, and is rather aggressive when demanding the password from OMORI and his friends. However, if given the correct password, the IMPRESSIVE STATUE reluctantly allows the group to pass it not before showing a bit of contempt for solving its password.
STORY[]
The IMPRESSIVE STATUE only appears at the center of SWEETHEART's garden, shown with a pleased expression on its face. When interacting with it for the first time, the statue awakens and questions the group about the password needed to escape the castle. None of the options first shown are correct, leaving the group no other choice but to give an incorrect answer (including "NEVERMIND"). Doing so prompts the statue to shoot out its laser beams to damage the party's leader.
The password is "SWEET JELLY FILLED DONUT", a hearty nod to the nickname CAPT. SPACEBOY gave SWEETHEART. The password cannot be entered until OMORI talks to the four guard moles holding a piece of the password. However, the group cannot acquire the password from the SPROUT MOLES in each section of the garden until they already spoke to the IMPRESSIVE STATUE.
Upon speaking to all guard moles and returning to the statue again, the group can now answer with the correct password. Upon receiving the correct password, the IMPRESSIVE STATUE relents its aggression temporarily. It also allows the group bypass it to escape the castle by revealing a trapdoor leading to an underground basement that serves as an hidden escape route.
