JOY'S HOUSE is one of the many areas within FARAWAY TOWN in OMORI. It is where JOY, MICHAEL, their father and grandmother primarily reside throughout the game.
GEOGRAPHY[]
JOY'S HOUSE is the third house shown within the OTHER STREET, located between KIM's and CHARLENE's houses. It is recognizable by its grey color palette. The yard is clear with only three trash bins placed in a row to the west of the front window. The interior is accessible on THREE DAYS LEFT with BLUE FLYER, and afterwards if SUNNY has tutored JOY.
Inside is plain, with grey walls and grey blue floors. Potted plants and bonsai are randomly placed. The bookshelves are filled with books in a language SUNNY cannot read. Exploration of JOY's house is necessary if the player wants to complete a part of the "Universally Loved" achievement.
STORY[]
THREE DAYS LEFT[]
SUNNY and KEL can pick up a tutoring flyer on the wall of OTHERMART, with a request to tutor JOY. Accepting will cause THICK EYEBROWS to grant access to her house, to tutor JOY. Tutoring JOY will earn the the duo $20 and get the flower from her family for the Universally Loved achievement. Answering all problems correctly will earn the Grammar Whiz achievement.
TWO DAYS LEFT[]
If SUNNY has tutored JOY on THREE DAYS LEFT, he will be able to visit her house again and JOY still stays in her room. When talked to in the morning, Joy tells SUNNY she wants to hang out, asking SUNNY if he can help her finish today's worksheet.
If SUNNY agrees to take the quest, JOY will express her surprise on SUNNY accepting it before leaving the house. After finishing the problems of the worksheet, SUNNY can find JOY jumping on the sandbox in FARAWAY PARK.
If SUNNY refuses JOY's request, JOY will tell SUNNY she has predicted that and she probably should study harder. JOY then accepts it is another studying day and starts wondering what her brother is doing at the moment, which also happens if SUNNY visits her in the evening regardless of whether he helped her in the morning.
ONE DAY LEFT[]
In the morning, JOY can be found in her room facing on MICHAEL's guitar. When talked to, she tells SUNNY MICHAEL told her he has decided to leave their home to become a musician, but she accidentally told their father about it and feels sorry. The father can be found in the kitchen, sighing about his son not going to give up his dream.
In the evening, JOY and her father can be found in the dining room sitting face-to-face. JOY is joyful for her father decided to take her and her grandmother to beach tomorrow. THICK EYEBROWS tells the party his son is going to leave their home and he should be easier on JOY, as kids are not kids forever.
If SUNNY has donated $30.00 to MICHAEL, THICK EYEBROWS will ask him to drop the LUNCHBOX he prepared off to his son. After receiving LETTER FOR DAD from MICHAEL, THICK EYEBROWS shows regret of being hard to his son and thanks SUNNY for delivering it.
