MEAT ROOM is one of the many locations found within BLACK SPACE in OMORI. It is the third optional BLACK SPACE area.
GEOGRAPHY[]
MEAT ROOM takes on the appearance of an desolate room featuring faceless versions of OMORI's friends from HEADSPACE. The background is mainly colored with a mix of black and light-purple tints.
The characters constantly roam around without stopping at all; KEL is notably faster than all of them. OMORI can still follow them and interact with them, only to receive no special response from them, although BASIL and MARI are exceptions. There are also a few remnants of OMORI's friends stuck on the floor. Other than that, there is not much to do but interact with the faceless mannequins and obtain the key to exit the room.
STORY[]
When OMORI enters the room, he finds himself surrounded by faceless versions of his friends. All of them are shown wandering around the area without stopping at all. Interacting with them will reveal an empty dialogue box. However, there are only two characters that have special portraits, consisting of BASIL and MARI.
If OMORI interacts with BASIL twice, his face will suddenly be covered by his SOMETHING. As for MARI, talking to her twice will turn her portrait into the SOMETHING that haunted him for years. Interacting with MARI a third time causes the demonic HELLMARI to appear instead of her usual face. These portraits won't appear again once OMORI completes these events.
The key is out in the open field. After collecting the key, several RED HANDS will spawn and interacting with them will take OMORI back to the center hub of BLACK SPACE.

- According to OMOCAT, MEAT ROOM was inspired by a show where a group of faceless aliens were trying to kidnap a woman.[1]
- MEAT ROOM is one of the ten optional BLACK SPACE areas the player can explore.
- The whole layout of MEAT ROOM secretly spells out a disturbing message that reads KILL ME.
- This presumably refers to SUNNY and BASIL, or either, as both are deeply devastated over their past actions regarding MARI's death, to the point of wanting to kill themselves out of sheer guilt.
- The faceless variants of BASIL and MARI are the only characters that have different portraits when spoken to more than once, which hints at their importance to the game's backstory and SUNNY himself.
- In the game's files, the faceless characters are referred as MANNEQUINS, implying that these versions are a product of BLACK SPACE or remnants from OMORI's previous adventures before resetting HEADSPACE multiple times.
- They also briefly appear within the LOST FOREST as visions that immediately vanish when coming into close contact with them. This also hints at BLACK SPACE slowly "bleeding" into HEADSPACE itself.
