OMORI Wiki

MIKHAEL'S HOUSE, also known as MAVERICK'S HOUSE[1], is one of the many areas within FARAWAY TOWN in OMORI. It is where THE MAVERICK, DAPHNE, BOWEN, and their parents primarily reside throughout the game.

GEOGRAPHY[]

Mikhael's House Location (Screenshot)

MIKHAEL'S HOUSE is the last house shown within SUNNY'S STREET, located to the right of CRIS's house. It is recognizable by its warm, pale yellow color palette. Next to the garage is MIKHAEL’s scooter and a row of colorful trash cans. Five statues of a religious figure are notably placed in front of the house, with SUNNY noting that he feels that it is judging him. The interior is accessible starting from TWO DAYS LEFT, only after HERO rejoins the party in the evening.

Inside is lukewarm and comfy, as various shelves containing loaves of bread are prominently featured. The photos contain a few religious figures and some of MIKHAEL’s unseen relatives. The bookshelves are full of books described as large and heavy, and a few are related to religion. Exploration of MIKHAEL's house is only necessary if the player wants to complete a part of the "Universally Loved" achievement.

STORY[]

TWO DAYS LEFT[]

Once HERO rejoins the party in the evening, MIKHAEL's house becomes accessible. MIKHAEL can be seen standing outside his house shivering, noting that he senses an "evil presence" lurking inside. From there, the party can enter the house to complete an optional sidequest involving MIKHAEL's older twin siblings, DAPHNE and BOWEN. It turns out that the two have set up comical props in an attempt to connect with their younger sibling in a game of hide-and-seek.

The twins can be found hiding under MIKHAEL's bed, and both pop out in an attempt to scare MIKHAEL. Despite their sadness over MIKHAEL not wanting to play with them, DAPHNE and BOWEN thank the party for playing their game. This will secure completion of the sidequest as well as a flower for the "Universally Loved" achievement. Interacting with MIKHAEL after the sidequest prompts him to ask SUNNY if he has experienced his older siblings' antics.

ONE DAY LEFT[]

On the following day, MIKHAEL can be found inside his room playing video games with his pet cat sitting beside him. When speaking to him, MIKHAEL wonders if he will find anything he has a talent for.

NOTABLE AREAS[]

LIVING ROOM[]

Mikhael's Living Room (Screenshot)

The LIVING ROOM is accessed from the front door like every other house in FARAWAY TOWN. The center features a large red carpet with neatly aligned wooden chairs in a 3x3 formation. Up front is a fireplace that has been used often, a bookshelf containing large books of unidentified language, and a red curtain resembling the ones at SUNNY’s house. Behind the chairs are two platters holding old loaves of bread.

A small table contains a “holy book” and near it is a beverage SUNNY describes as “red juice that smells like grapes”. The north doorway has a lamp and statue next to it, and a cross symbol hangs above the door frame. A sign reading “bless this home” is placed near the dining room.

DINING ROOM[]

The DINING ROOM is lively and full of spirit, with various photos and houseplants placed above the floor. Various bookshelves are placed near the pathway to the KITCHEN, and a photo of a stranger can be inspected as well. Connected east of the room is the LIVING ROOM.

The floor is covered by a large red carpet and the bottom section is decorated with a few houseplants. In the center is a wooden dining table on a rectangular brown carpet. Six seats are spread on the horizontal sides, and a candle is placed beside another religious book.

KITCHEN[]

Mikhael's Kitchen (Screenshot)

The KITCHEN is filled with the smell of deliciously baked bread and other foods the BAKER family makes for their business. Old bread left on a shelf is shown near a small wooden table with three seats. Near one of the chairs is a bag of flour for kneading dough.

Opening the pot on the stove reveals a jam-like smell, a toaster with bread sticking out of it is placed near a large bowl for making dough. Checking on the refrigerator reveals that it contains noodles, fish, and bitter melon. A cross symbol seen throughout the house is placed above the window stand and salt and pepper shakers.

STAIRCASE[]

Mikhael's Staircase (Screenshot)

The STAIRCASE area has a gentle presence, accessed north from the LIVING ROOM. At the bottom features various photos, a long horizontal red carpet, a photo of a stranger, three chairs, and a small table. The doorway there leads to MIKHAEL’s bedroom. Ascending the staircase leads upstairs, which features three doors leading to an individual room.

In the center is a long table with a religious book, two statues beside it, and a large photo frame of a religious figure. The bottom corner of that floor has two seats and a table for each side. The doors from left to right lead to BAKER PARENTS’ ROOM, the BATHROOM, and DAPHNE and BOWEN’s BEDROOM respectively. Also noteworthy is the lone grandfather clock placed next to the PARENTS’ ROOM door, and two cross signs placed above the left and right doorways.

MIKHAEL’S BEDROOM[]

Located on the bottom floor of the STAIRCASE is where MIKHAEL keeps to himself. The bottom corner of the room features some interesting sights. An assortment of wigs line a table to the left, with the yellow one missing. An oddly-placed rolling chair next to a cactus plant is described as being dramatically pushed out of the way. Up front is notably MIKHAEL’s bed, a wardrobe, and a new gaming console.

A wide-toothed comb is placed in front of a mirror containing sticky notes. The three sticky notes serve as reminders for MIKHAEL on how to act out in public as his “MAVERICK” persona. The TWINS are first found hiding under MIKHAEL’s bed during their sidequest, and MIKHAEL can be seen playing video games on ONE DAY LEFT.

BAKER PARENTS’ ROOM[]

The room belonging to MIKHAEL’s parents is accessed from the door to the left of the STAIRCASE. To the left is a large bed with a green blanket and a small work desk.

Right beside the bed is a table holding a religious book, and a cross sign hanging above. Next to it is a wardrobe, a bookshelf, and an ordinary houseplant.

BATHROOM[]

Mikhael's Bathroom (Screenshot)

MIKHAEL’s bathroom is refreshing with a neatly tiled floor and yellow-striped wallpaper. THe objects featured consist of a clean bathtub, some towels and toiletries, a large mirror, a toilet, and lastly a table with one of the many religious books the household has.

There is notably a scale placed near the mirror, to which SUNNY notes that he doesn’t remember the last time used one before. A few potted plants and a cross sign are also shown hanging near the window.

DAPHNE AND BOWEN’S ROOM[]

Daphne and Bowen's Room (Screenshot)

DAPHNE and BOWEN’s room is best described as symmetrical in design. In fact, both sides of the room are hilariously identical to one another. The wrinkles in both beds are noted to be perfectly symmetrical to one another. This detail is also shared with the twins’ desks and wardrobes. In the center of the room is a square green carpet.

It is also noteworthy that both twins have identical trophies that highlight them being ranked first place in a national baking championship. When undergoing the optional sidequest, DAPHNE and BOWEN place cardboard cutouts of themselves to fool the party. The twins later head back to their room after the party finishes playing hide-and-seek with them.

TRIVIA[]

  • Like with other beds in FARAWAY TOWN, SUNNY can inspect and review them:
    • MR. and MRS. BAKER's bed is described as decent and is rated 6 out of 10.
    • MIKHAEL's bed is described as messy and rated 3 out of 10.
    • THE TWINS' beds are described as with wrinkles that are perfectly symmetrical to the one on the other side.
  • Checking certain spots when doing MIKHAEL's sidequest leads to the following events:
    • The curtain in the living room reveals another set of cardboard cutouts.
    • The closet in the BAKER parents' room reveals their pet cat.
    • Turning over the rug reveals two fluffy pillows.
  • If the player has a PET ROCK equipped upon finding the TWINS hiding under MIKHAEL's bed, DAPHNE will proceed to challenge SUNNY to a game of PET ROCKS.
    • This can also be done as many times as possible when interacting with the TWINS in their own bedroom after playing their game of hide-and-seek.
  • According to unused dialogue within the game's files, a bookshelf originally would be placed in the TWINS' room, described as "the only thing that is not perfectly symmetrical in this room".
