MR. SCAREBRO is a character and NPC in OMORI. He resides within LAST RESORT's CLUB SANDWICH, where he attempts to provoke HERO into punching him to prove his assertiveness.

MR. SCAREBRO is a sentient scarecrow with blonde hair and a straw hat. He notably wears a blue and white shirt tucked together, and a pair of sunglasses. Like MR. SCARECROW and SCARETHROW, the two scarecrows he bears a resemblance to, MR. SCAREBRO is held together by a wooden stake and multiple straws.

PERSONALITY[]

MR. SCAREBRO describes himself as a "good judge of character", often trying to help others become more assertive and confident. Calm and collected, he acts amicably towards the party with the intention of helping improve their well-beings.

This is shown through his attempts to get HERO to strike him as hard as he can. If HERO manages to knock MR. SCAREBRO off his wooden stake, the latter will become impressed with the former's newfound assertiveness, complimenting him with genuine joy at this development.

STORY[]

MR. SCAREBRO can be found stationed on the stage of the LAST RESORT's CLUB SANDWICH, accessed through the 1F of the casino after HERO rejoins the party on TWO DAYS LEFT for either route. When interacting with him, SCAREBRO judges HERO for being too nice and says that he would rather let others walk all over him like a pushover.

He then advises HERO to be more assertive and dares him to punch him in the form of a challenge. The player then has the option to strike SCAREBRO to prove HERO's newfound confidence. If spoken to again by a party member other than HERO, MR. SCAREBRO will refuse to let them hit him. The only choice left is to tag HERO as the leader and take up SCAREBRO's offer.

Accepting his offer will lead to a short sequence where HERO softly rams into SCAREBRO, causing him to question the former for his performance. Doing it again will allow HERO to awaken his newfound assertiveness by gaining the willpower to knock SCAREBRO off his wooden stake, granting the former a permanent boost of 20 ATTACK points. Speaking to SCAREBRO afterwards prompts him to compliment HERO for proving himself.

  • MR. SCAREBRO is the only character at CLUB SANDWICH that can grant a permanent boost for a character's ATTACK stats, that being HERO's boost of 20 ATTACK points if he completes his challenge.
