This article is about OMORI as an enemy. For the character page, see OMORI. For the game itself, see OMORI (GAME).
The titular character OMORI serves as the final boss in OMORI for the SUNNY ROUTE, in which SUNNY finally decides to face his guilt over MARI's death and move on from the past.
STORY
After reliving six of his cherished memories within MEMORY LANE, SUNNY enters the backstage of a building. Upon entering the room, he finds the younger versions of AUBREY, KEL, and HERO waiting for him. These ones aren't the HEADSPACE counterparts seen throughout the game but rather the real ones that SUNNY remembers from his childhood.
Each one of them gives SUNNY words of encouragement, telling him to not give up and soon vanish after doing so. With the encouraging words of his friends, SUNNY heads over to the fascimille of a concert stage. With nothing holding him back, SUNNY sets down the SHEET MUSIC, readies his violin, and plays a solo violin song.
He eventually breaks down in tears over getting to mourn his older sister's death. SUNNY is then transported into WHITE SPACE again for a final showdown against OMORI. The two end up battling for control of SUNNY's mind. OMORI ends up overwhelming SUNNY by constantly reminding him of what he had done to MARI and that he doesn't deserve forgiveness for his actions.
There are only two possible outcomes if the player chooses either one of the two options after losing to OMORI the first time around: CONTINUE and DO NOT CONTINUE. Selecting either option will lead to an ending that changes the title screen, as well as earning an achievement in the aftermath.
CONTINUE
If SUNNY chooses to continue, he will get back up, readying himself to play his violin with renewed vigor. He performs the duet recital with MARI, remembering the good times he spent with MARI and his friends during his youth.
Once SUNNY and MARI finish their duet, OMORI accepts defeat and embraces SUNNY with a hug, vanishing from WHITE SPACE. Shortly after this, SUNNY leaves WHITE SPACE and HEADSPACE behind as he is ready to face reality once more.
SUNNY soon awakens in the hospital crying with a bandage over his right eye, finally coming to terms with MARI's death. Stepping out of his room, SUNNY briefly hallucinates OMORI's HEADSPACE friends and STRANGER as he heads over to check on BASIL. Upon reaching the latter's room, SUNNY faces his friends as well and finally tells them the truth behind MARI's death.
If the player has made the effort to water BASIL's flowers during at least one day in HEADSPACE, an additional cutscene is added after the credits. SUNNY and BASIL gaze at each other and smile as their SOMETHINGs fade away, showing that regardless of how everyone else has reacted, the burden that they have shouldered for four years has lifted and they are both ready to move on.
This will yield the One more day... achievement as the player has reached the GOOD ENDING. When the game goes back to the title screen, it will now show SUNNY and the peaceful background of FARAWAY TOWN's morning blue sky. A peaceful piano song plays in the background to signify that SUNNY is ready to move on from the past.
DO NOT CONTINUE
If SUNNY chooses not to continue, he will instead disappear as OMORI presumably takes control of SUNNY's mind. From there, OMORI wakes up in WHITE SPACE once again. He visits his friends, who all appear strangely silent, in NEIGHBOR'S ROOM as usual, and together they head out for more adventuring.
Upon exiting the NEIGHBOR'S ROOM, the scene immediately cuts over to SUNNY standing on the hospital's balcony alone. He cannot turn back as he has already made his decision. Unable to accept the truth, SUNNY commits suicide by jumping off the building. As he fails to make amends to his friends and MARI, SUNNY plummets endlessly to his presumed death.
This will yield the Close your eyes... achievement as the player has reached the BAD ENDING. When the game goes back to the title screen, FARAWAY TOWN's morning blue sky is shown. The only difference is that SUNNY/OMORI is no longer present as he has presumably died in the ending and an empty ambience can be heard. This ending can also be obtained by choosing DO NOT RETRY when losing to OMORI's first few phases; before he inflicts the AFRAID emotion on SUNNY for the first time.

Every turn, each enemy will start by trying to use the skill listed at the top. If the calculation fails, they move on to the second skill and so on, until reaching the final skill which is guaranteed to activate. Each calculation is done independently from the previous ones, so the added percentage is not 100%.
*The first five moves OMORI will use are practically scripted (Phase 1 only). Afterwards, OMORI will then use any of his following attacks by a random percentage throughout the fight.
**Starting from Phase 2, if OMORI's HP is higher than the percentage stated, he will proceed to use his ERASE attack most of the time.
STRATEGY
OMORI himself serves as the final boss of the SUNNY ROUTE, serving as the final obstacle SUNNY must face to overcome his guilt over MARI's death. His attacks can constantly deal heavy damage to SUNNY, so you must use CALM DOWN and CHERISH to restore HP and JUICE and increase stats throughout the fight, and use ALLEGRO to fight back since it's SUNNY's strongest attack and can inflict heavy damage on OMORI. Use ENCORE in tandem with ALLEGRO to retain your juice when you use it. If you have the SEASHELL NECKLACE equipped before beginning the fight, its buffs will still be present and can provide a slight edge in the fight. Note that only during the first phase OMORI's first five turns are scripted before using any of his attacks at a random percentage.
OMORI will use many of his attacks from both the SUNNY ROUTE and the OMORI ROUTE. Unlike all the other fights, it is impossible to defeat him conventionally by simply reducing his HEART to zero as he will not succumb every time you do so. The point is driven home when the message "OMORI did not succumb" changes to "OMORI will not succumb" after phase 4. Each time OMORI continues to persist, he will use stronger variants of his original moves on SUNNY.
The main gimmick of the fight is OMORI's "ERASE" attack that changes with each phase of the fight reached, starting as a heavy-hitting attack but gaining more effects as the battle goes on. If the player brings OMORI down four times, his ERASE attack will start inflicting AFRAID status on SUNNY, disabling all of his SKILLS except for CALM DOWN. CALM DOWN can remove AFRAID, but the normal CALM DOWN skill is immediately replaced once by a broken version after OMORI says "You loved her and you killed her." However, if the player successfully reach Phase 6 before this quote, the CALM DOWN skill will still work normally.
The danger of the ERASE attack is offset by OMORI still using his other, less devastating moves on occasion. But should you manage bring OMORI down five times and reach his final phase, he will drop all pretense of the fight being winnable: he will use a new ERASE attack and nothing else every round, inflicting AFRAID and lowering DEFENSE each time, inflicting increasing amounts of damage on SUNNY. Eventually, the ERASE attack will become stronger than SUNNY's CALM DOWN skill, making it impossible to survive and forcing you to lose.
The only way to win the fight is to respond with "YES" to the CONTINUE option once you inevitably get a GAME OVER. You'll need to have reached Phase 5 before losing for the CONTINUE option to show up. Losing before this point will instead prompt you to RETRY, which restarts the whole fight from the beginning. After choosing to CONTINUE, the only option afterward is to PLAY, which allows SUNNY to play his final duet with MARI, ending the fight.

TRIVIA
- Each one of OMORI's ERASE attacks starting from Phase 2 will showcase a specific object relating to OMORI himself or a grim reminder of SUNNY's sins:
- Phase 2: Uses the RED HANDS skill from the OMORI ROUTE.
- Phase 3: Uses the realistic RED HANDS from RED SPACE.
- Phase 4: Uses large clumps of MARI's hair, referencing her death.
- Phase 5: Uses the distorted HELLMARI figure and a hellish version of SUNNY.
- Phase 6: Represents SUNNY's guilt and self-hate combined into one devastating attack.
- The various backgrounds adds in more objects for each phase, listed down below:
- Phase 3 adds the realistic RED HANDS that surround the throne of hands from RED SPACE.
- Phase 4 adds the giant floating head of HELLMARI.
- Phase 5 adds blurry visions of long-necked MARI mannequins.
- Phase 6 adds silhouettes of what appear to be KEL, BASIL, HERO, and AUBREY's corpses being hanged in a similar manner to MARI.
- Whenever OMORI enters a new phase of his boss fight and experiences a new ERASE attack, a new distorted sound will be added to the background music and replace the previous one. Furthermore, once OMORI inflicts the AFRAID emotion status on SUNNY for the first time during the fifth phase, the background music switches to "OMORI - ALTER" as the last distorted sounds are added in.
- Phase 2 and 3 adds a high-pitched flatline to the music after SUNNY is attacked by RED HANDS.
- Phase 4 adds a humming, distorted ambience after SUNNY is attacked by MARI's hair.
- Phase 5 adds the loud and heavily distorted sounds of shouting after SUNNY is hit by HELLMARI and inflicted with AFRAID.
- OMORI's final phase is impossible to pass due to the strength of OMORI's ERASE attack, which is stronger than SUNNY's CALM DOWN ability. At best, the player is only able to land one or two hits on OMORI in this phase before SUNNY falls.
- If cheats/mods are used to circumvent this and the player manages to bring OMORI down once again, the phase will indefinitely repeat until SUNNY's inevitable GAME OVER.
- OMORI'S HACK AWAY attack, despite not being used against a full party, still functions as a party-wide attack.
- Unfortunately, players looking to glitch or mod extra party members into the fight will find that HACK AWAY now hits everyone three times without fail, rather than three random strikes like normal. Any party member that isn't the SUNNY build specific to this fight will be obliterated by this attack.
- OMORI can only directly hit right in the heart when utilizing either his STAB skill or Phase 2's RED HANDS attack. The latter skill has 10% chance of doing so for each strike from the RED HANDS.
- As the battle continues, each one of OMORI's boss phases increases its damage multiplier, becoming stronger in terms of damaging SUNNY every time OMORI lands a blow on him.
- There is an unused version of the OMORI fight, in which OMORI has 80 HP, 4 ATK, 2 DEF, 6 SPD, and 10 LCK. Defeating the early variant would lead to a mockup for the final attack.
- These stats are also used for his actual stats in-game but right after the battle starts, the event titled ★ Omori Battle Level ★ in the game's data will immediately increase the value numbers for his HEART, ATK, DEF and SPD.
- OMORI's stats were originally planned to depend on OMORI's LEVEL as a playable character. However, this becomes unused due to the level variable being automatically set to 25.
