POLLY is a character in OMORI. As BASIL's parents are often absent from the house, they hired her to act as a caretaker for him and his grandmother.

POLLY has light brown hair and pale skin. She wears yellow clothing that looks similar to a dress.
PERSONALITY[]
As a caregiver, POLLY is shown to be kind and nurturing, as shown when she treats SUNNY and KEL to dinner. She regularly concerns herself over the well-being of both BASIL and BASIL'S GRANDMA. Though polite and forgiving, she worries that others consider her taste in food plain and often makes more than just a few people can eat, thus being happy when SUNNY and KEL are able to also enjoy her food. When BASIL goes missing, she immediately goes to KEL'S HOUSE hoping KEL can find him.
STORY[]
BACKGROUND[]
POLLY is a nurse who was hired by BASIL's parents to take care of both BASIL and his grandmother, as his parents travel frequently for business. Though caring for him at the best of her ability, she expresses concern over BASIL and his tendency to be alone, constant usage of the bathroom, or refusal to open his door.
THREE DAYS LEFT[]
Though her name is displayed as ???, she can first be encountered with THREE DAYS LEFT looking at shelves in the pharmacy. She wonders out loud "Sigh... Is there nothing I can do?" Afterwards, she answers the door when KEL and SUNNY return the PHOTO ALBUM, inviting the duo to dinner. While SUNNY and BASIL catch up with one another, KEL assists POLLY in cooking chicken vegetable soup, encouraging her that her taste is not plain and that plenty of people love the same things as her. After briefly chatting with KEL during dinner, BASIL excuses himself to the restroom, much to her concern. She ponders why he would want to go to the bathroom so often, and after SUNNY confronts BASIL, she is shown to be exchanging numbers with KEL before thanking them for their attendance.
TWO DAYS LEFT[]
POLLY can be found at the GARDEN of FIX-IT in the morning, staring at some sunflowers. She wonders out loud "Sigh... I thought he would be here..." Afterwards, she rushes to KEL'S HOUSE after realizing that BASIL is nowhere to be found. After retrieving him from their old HANGOUT SPOT, POLLY is grateful and thanks them all for their help, telling them that she can take care of BASIL from there.
ONE DAY LEFT[]
The whole group, now with HERO and AUBREY in tow, make a trip to BASIL'S HOUSE in order to give AUBREY the chance to apologize to BASIL. However, POLLY informs them that BASIL went to the hospital once his grandmother was rushed there. She then says they can come back later, as BASIL may be back by then. Shortly after they leave, BASIL arrives, and locks himself in his room.
After visiting the TREEHOUSE, the party returns to the house. POLLY informs them of BASIL's actions upon returning. The group unsuccessfully try to communicate with BASIL, but decide regardless, that they should stay there for him. POLLY accepts, giving the group blankets when they ask to sleep overnight and is very open to the idea of BASIL having friends to comfort him. If BASIL is not confronted during the night of ONE DAY LEFT, POLLY shows immense guilt over his suicide and is angry at herself for letting such a thing happen as his caretaker. If BASIL is confronted, she is not seen for the rest of the game's duration.
