SHAWN is a character and NPC in OMORI. He is often seen hanging out with his friend REN at the FOREST PLAYGROUND, whether it be stargazing or exercising.

APPEARANCE[]
SHAWN is a pale-skinned, goat-like creature. His eyes are bright red, and his skin is completely white. He has ears that droop down slighty like that of a goat's, and he also has two small horns sticking out from the top of either side of his head. He appears to either have his mouth open or is sticking his tongue out. SHAWN has dark purple hair, stylized by the color palette of HEADSPACE. He wears a red jumper with white sleeves that are pink at the ends.
PERSONALITY[]
SHAWN is shown to be friendly and warm-hearted, often spending time with REN, preferring her company over the other kids at FOREST PLAYGROUND. He and REN appear to be older than many of the other kids, as shown by their marriage status when SUNNY encounters their real-life counterparts in FIX-IT. He also enjoys exercise and health, creating his own routine with REN.
STORY[]
PROLOGUE - THREE DAYS LEFT[]
SHAWN can first be found at VAST FOREST's playground, lying in the grass with REN. When interacted with, SHAWN remarks that the grass is nice, and asks OMORI if he wants to join him and REN for stargazing. If OMORI agrees to watch the stars together, he will learn OBSERVE.
While the other children play hide-and-seek due to BERLY gathering them together, SHAWN, REN, and HERO exercise together. It is revealed SHAWN and REN invited HERO to come exercise with them, to which the young man couldn't refuse their offer. After finding HERO, the former thanks both SHAWN and REN for inviting him to exercise, mentioning they should do that again someday.
TWO DAYS LEFT[]
Upon returning to HEADSPACE, OMORI discovers that all of his friends from the playground have gone missing, apparently being tricked into signing CONTRACTS given by MR. JAWSUM, effectively signing their lives away through labor in favor of working at the LAST RESORT.
SHAWN and REN can be found near the front desk on the first floor. From there, both are given the job of welcoming any newcomers that enter the casino. They will repeat their dialogue if spoken to again.
ONE DAY LEFT[]
After saving BASIL within BLACK SPACE and resetting HEADSPACE back to its original state on the OMORI ROUTE, the group can return to the LAST RESORT once again.
SHAWN and REN are still found doing their jog routine on the first floor when returning there. When speaking to MR. JAWSUM for the last time, he decides to retire and instead gives ownership of the casino to HERO. This will result in most of the casino's workers and visitors leaving the place.
SHAWN and the other playground residents soon return to their place at the VAST FOREST. He can be seen back in his original spot lying on the grass with REN, enjoying the starry sky of HEADSPACE. He will repeat the same dialogue spoken before from the previous segments.

- SHAWN's real world counterpart seems to be SEAN.
- In the 2018 demo, SHAWN and REN's overworld sprites originally depicted them holding jump rope to play with. They also had more expressions and animations but these were strangely removed in the final game.
- SHAWN's relationship with REN is mirrored through their real world counterparts SEAN and KAREN.
