SKILLS are abilities that can be used in battle, usually costing a certain amount of JUICE. Each friend starts out with a few SKILLS at LEVEL 1, but they can learn more SKILLS by reaching certain LEVELS, talking to specific CHARACTERS, or finding certain WEAPONS.

- The way that OMORI's OBSERVE works is that it forces the foe to choose their next action immediately from a limited pool of moves. There is a popular strategy that uses this mechanic dubbed "OBSERVE Abuse", as it can disable certain bosses difficult such as preventing PERFECTHEART from healing in-between phases.
- OMORI's MOCK, TRICK, SHUN, VERTIGO, CRIPPLE, and SUFFOCATE all reduce their respective stats by 3 stages, which is the lowest tier possible.
- All of AUBREY's skills that state that she "attacks" instead of "deals damage" have the same damage scaling of 2x ATTACK, which is the same as her regular attack.
- AUBREY's MOOD WRECKER skill's description states that it is "a swing that doesn't miss" since it has guaranteed accuracy regardless of AUBREY's HIT RATE.
- KEL's CURVEBALL is able to inflict the same EMOTION that the foe is already feeling, resulting in no change in EMOTION.
- KEL's CAN'T CATCH ME's effect only applies for 1 turn, despite what the skill's description says.
- KEL's JUICE ME can actually miss if KEL has reduced HIT RATE, making it deal no damage, recover no JUICE, and also not recover the 1 ENERGY normally gained from the recoil damage. The skill's damage will also take into account EMOTION Advantage using KEL's and the target's EMOTIONS, making it deal more or less damage.
- HERO's DAZZLE is the only ability in the game that can inflict the same EMOTION to all foes in one action.
- HERO's SPICY FOOD applies the ANGRY effect before it deals damage, meaning the damage will take EMOTION Advantage into account as if the foe was ANGRY.
SKILL LEARNING TRIVIA:[]
- HERO is the only friend to not start with an EMOTION skill at LEVEL 1, as he only learns MASSAGE at LEVEL 2 during the tutorial.
- Although the LEVEL requirements for each skill are spread out differently between each party member, all of them have skills that they learn at the same LEVELS of 10, 20, and 30.
- OMORI not only learns the most total skills of the party (18), but also learns an additional skill in FINAL STRIKE at LEVEL 35, 5 LEVELS after every other party member has learned all their LEVEL-UP skills.
- Each friend learns a redirection skill that taunts foes to attack them, except for OMORI.
- As a likely intentional design choice, OMORI learns MOCK, TRICK, and SHUN at LEVELS that you are likely to reach before fighting SPACE EX-BOYFRIEND, SWEETHEART, and the UNBREAD TWINS respectively, as these skills can easily counter each boss's main EMOTION. OMORI also learns skills that benefit from each EMOTION at LEVELS close to when he learns the MOCK-type skills, being HACK AWAY, LUCKY SLICE, and PAINFUL TRUTH. Interestingly, the next two skills he learns afterwards in STARE and EXPLOIT are both manipulative in nature, while FINAL STRIKE encourages OMORI to feel intense EMOTIONS.
OTHER:[]
- OMORI and SUNNY's STAB and ALLEGRO are the only skills that do not have a JUICE cost that is divisible by 5. STAB's JUICE cost is 13, while ALLEGRO costs 19. This is likely a reference to how the number 13 often means bad luck and death, while the number 19 often means the ability to move forward in life, which parallels OMORI and SUNNY's characteristics.
- During the RECYCULTIST'S HQ in FARAWAY TOWN with the FARAWAY party, both AUBREY and HERO's basic attack and skills use the HEADSPACE artstyle, foreshadowing that the section is a dream.
