The SLIME GIRLS are a group of characters and an enemy residing within HUMPHREY in OMORI. They consist of MOLLY, MEDUSA, and MARINA.

STORY

The SLIME GIRLS are 3 squid-like witches/scientists that live inside of HUMPHREY. It is unclear how long they have lived there, but we can assume from their old age that they have lived there for a considerably long time. They perform experiments on the HUMPHREYs there. MOLLY's experiments tend to be focused on robotics and electricity, MEDUSA's natural and accurate, and MARINA's Frankenstein-esque. After SWEETHEART comes inside of HUMPHREY in order to create a near-perfect replication of herself to be her suitor, she tasks the three witches to make this clone.

However, after seeing each of the three's results, she is unsatisfied and storms out on all three of them, all while OMORI and his friends watch. Angered that they have not yet received the 1,000,000 clam fee from SWEETHEART that they expect her to pay, they confront her about this. She promptly hands the payment over to OMORI and the rest of his group, and attempts to exit HUMPHREY, but ends up getting consumed by him.

After the friends realize they won't be able to pay the fee, the SLIME GIRLS decide to instead use KEL for testing, much to the dislike of the rest of the group. Because of this, the two sides decide to battle. After OMORI and his friends are victorious, the SLIME GIRLS are baffled that they have lost, interrupted by HUMPHREY's grumbling. He complains that he is extremely hungry, and the SLIME GIRLS realize that none of them have fed him yet. They decide to flee the whale after realizing it's too late to feed him, but are prevented from exiting by HUMPHREYs. Trapped, the SLIME GIRLS are inevitably eaten by HUMPHREY, presumably killed in the process.

However, the OMORI ROUTE reveals that the three of them managed to survive getting eaten by HUMPHREY but reduced to mere heads, lacking their original bodies. If OMORI and party revisit HUMPHREY after resetting HEADSPACE upon saving BASIL, the SLIME GIRLS can offer optional sidequests involving the latter collecting material from specific enemies to recreate their bodies. They can also be refought in the BOSS RUSH simulator run by BOSS in HUMPHREY.

Most skills, unless stated otherwise, have a 20% variance rate. This means they will do between 80% and 120% of their regular damage. However, the DYNAMITE and SLIME ULTIMATE ATTACK skill have no variance and will never hit in the HEART.

*These skills will never hit in the HEART and have no damage variation.

Every turn, each enemy will start by trying to use the skill listed at the top. If the calculation fails, they move on to the second skill and so on, until reaching the final skill which is guaranteed to activate. Each calculation is done independently from the previous ones, so the added percentage is not 100%.

Additionally, they will do the following actions as their heart gets lower:

  • 75% HP.png: SLIME GIRLS became ANGRIER! (EMOTION shows them as ANGRY)
  • 50% HP.png: SLIME GIRLS will swap the party's HEART with their JUICE.
  • 25% HP.png: SLIME GIRLS will do their ULTIMATE ATTACK, throwing everything they have.

*This also applies to the BOSS RUSH version of the skill.

STRATEGY

The SLIME GIRLS, despite being three individuals, fight as a single entity in battle. Owing to their expertise in many fields they have several tricks up their sleeve that can cause the tides of battle to shift unexpectedly.

Their basic attack is a chainsaw that hits three times, and they can toss bottles that have varying effects, most frequently dealing damage while randomizing the party's EMOTIONS. When they hit 75% HP they turn ANGRY, but unlike other boss fights you can remove and alter their EMOTION, and they cannot get progressively ANGRIER over the fight. Depending on your preference you can specialize for any EMOTION you desire.

Once they hit half HP they "do their thing" by swapping the party's HEART and JUICE before tossing a bottle that hits the whole party. If you've been liberal with using your SKILLS this can lead to someone plummeting to very low HEART right before getting TOASTed. Keep watch on your party's JUICE bars to prevent an unwelcome TOASTing.

When they reach low HEART they go all out with their attacks, first by depleting your party's JUICE completely, then by debuffing all their stats, before throwing a strong party-wide hit. All this combined can knock out anyone at middling health, so do your best to maintain an emotional advantage and to keep their stats debuffed with SMILE or STARE during the fight. If you're still standing after this assault, chances are you've got very high ENERGY, so initiate a FOLLOW-UP or even a RELEASE ENERGY and you can finish the fight despite having no JUICE to speak of.

  • Note that having the 1,000,000 clams requested prior to the boss fight does not result in any major changes, only a minor change in dialogue from AUBREY from "We don't have that kind of money!" to "We can't just give you all that money!"
  • The SLIME GIRLS have an unused DO NOTHING skill, in which the text would read: "MEDUSA throws a bottle... but nothing happened..."
    • Another variation of the unused skill text uses the same text but with the user name (SLIME GIRLS) being used instead of MEDUSA.
