CHEF MOLE is a character and NPC in OMORI. They are SPROUT MOLES talented in cooking delicious dishes, notably TOFU and large-sized cakes. They also go by the titles of SOUS CHEF MOLE and HEAD CHEF MOLE.

CHEF MOLES mostly resemble regular SPROUT MOLES, retaining the usual teardrop-shaped body, two stubby feet and a sprout with two leaves growing from their head. They all wear a chef's hat at all times when making food in the kitchen.
PERSONALITY[]
CHEF MOLES are usually shown to be dedicated to their talent in culinary arts. They all share the same trait of remaining determined to create something delicious for their customers and can be a bit frustrated when things go wrong for them. However, they all have trouble with actually making delicious food, which is why OMORI and his friends end up helping them make actual food during their brief minigame segment.
STORY[]
Three CHEF MOLES first appear within the second floor of the SPROUT MOLE VILLAGE. They can be found trying to make something on the left side of the floor. There are two SOUS CHEF MOLES arguing over which flavor of TOFU is better. Interacting with them will prompt HERO to try to resolve their argument, only to receive backlash from both MOLES. The CHEF MOLE standing on the far left offers trivia on TOFU if the party accepts learning more about the snack.
Later on, various CHEF MOLES appear within SWEETHEART's ROYAL KITCHEN. The first sous chef retires, and the next one takes his place. Mistaking the party as SPROUT MOLES due to the masks they wear, the SOUS CHEF MOLE enlists their help in baking a cake, with nonsensical instructions.
If the party decides to follow SOUS CHEF MOLE, this will lead to a short segment where they must help him bake a cake by simply following his instructions. However, none of the ingredients shown on the tables match what he says. Regardless, doing so will creates a pixelated mess that knocks SOUS CHEF MOLE out of commission, along with an achievement to match.
From that point on, the HEAD CHEF MOLE will replace him and is more competent, giving clear instruction to bake a delicious cake. Successfully baking the cake properly will complete this area. If the player already knows the instructions beforehand and bakes a cake correctly on the first attempt, the achievement will not be unlocked.
