SPROUT MOLES are highly intelligent plant creatures, but they become hostile when they become lost. They have the same appearance of LOST SPROUT MOLES.
The first friendly SPROUT MOLE can be found in the line at the TRAIN STATION, where they reveal to OMORI and friends how becoming lost makes SPROUT MOLES hostile. They realize they just so happen to be lost, and attacks the group.
In OTHERWORLD, there is an area where cutting through the cones with OMORI in lead will allow players to access a MELON and a SPROUT MOLE known as LONE MOLE. Interacting with LONE MOLE will cause it to get upset with you for cutting down the cones. The interaction ends with the party transported to the entrance of the cone area with the cones around the entrance and the SRPOUT MOLE being reset. This will grant the player the WHAT'S THE BIG IDEA!?!? achievement upon completion.
A group of SPROUT MOLES can later be found talking about SWEETHEART's show, revealing they have tickets to it. They realize they are lost, and charge at OMORI and friends after seeing them.
In PYREFLY FOREST, an entire underground village of SPROUT MOLES can be found, with many variants of SPROUT MOLES as it's inhabitants. This is also the location where SWEETHEART'S CASTLE is accessed, it's also revealed that all the SPROUT MOLES are adoring fans of SWEETHEART.
A SPROUT MOLE can later be found inside HUMPHREY, complaining about being stuck inside of the whale.
Excuse you! I am no ugly plant creature! I'm a SPROUT MOLE, a very high-functioning and intelligent creature. What you are referring to is a LOST SPROUT MOLE. When SPROUT MOLES become lost, they can often become hostile and attack without warning! Hmm... Actually... Where am I? ... Could it be that I'm... lost? Urgg... Suddenly, I don't feel so good... ... ... ... EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

HEY, WHAT'S THE BIG IDEA!?!? I went through all the trouble to isolate myself from society and then you show up and ruin everything! YOU BETTER FIX THIS RIGHT NOW!!
— LONE MOLE
We SPROUT MOLES are highly intelligent creatures!

Greetings, traveler. Welcome to my home! It is humble and small but it is mine.
— COLONY MOLE
Many SPROUT MOLES used to inhabit this place... but a lot of them moved away to merge with a bigger colony somewhere in a big forest. It was a risky move, so some of us stayed behind... My brother left with the rest of the SPROUT MOLES... Do you think he still remembers me?
