THE ROYAL KITCHEN is one of the few areas found within SWEETHEART'S CASTLE in OMORI. It can be accessed by entering the hallway to the right on the top floor.
GEOGRAPHY[]
THE ROYAL KITCHEN is an area where SWEETHEART's CHEF MOLES make delicious treats for her to dine on. There are also various decorations of SWEETHEART adorned on the walls and a small table featuring the royal guard SPROUT MOLES. The room up above is filled with ingredients on the tables and kitchen equipment.
When entering the room, a SOUS CHEF MOLE will tell the party to follow him into the kitchen, leading to short segment where they have to create a delicious cake properly. Completing this room is mandatory to progress. It also connects to SERVANT'S QUARTERS, a resting area for the group to heal up or save.
Interacting with the sparkle on the kitchen wall will grant HERO the FRYING PAN weapon, which causes the party's snacks to recover more HEART in battle. The only watermelon found between the ingredients contains the COCONUT weapon meant for KEL. This will also teach KEL the JUICE ME skill.
STORY[]
While working their way through SWEETHEART'S CASTLE, OMORI and his party enter a kitchen staffed with SPROUT MOLES. The first sous chef retires, and the next one takes his place. Mistaking the party as SPROUT MOLES due to the masks they wear, the SOUS CHEF MOLE enlists their help in baking a cake, with nonsensical instructions. (The nonsensical instructions replace the intended food items with either visual look-alikes or homophones. For example, EGGS are referred to as PING PONG BALLS and FLOUR is referred to as FLOWERS.)
If the party decides to follow SOUS CHEF MOLE, this will lead to a short segment where they must help him bake a cake by simply following his instructions. However, none of the ingredients shown on the tables matches what he says. Regardless, doing so will creates a pixelated mess that knocks SOUS CHEF MOLE out of commission, along with an achievement to match.
From that point on, the HEAD CHEF MOLE will replace him and is more competent, giving clear instruction to bake a delicious cake. Completing baking the cake properly will complete this area. If the player already knows the instructions beforehand and bakes a cake correctly on the first attempt, the achievement will not be unlocked.

- If the WTF VALUE is greater than or equal to 4, a cockroach named SIMPLE ROACH appears in the top right corner. Interacting with it plays a line of dialogue before it fades away.
